Peace Torch Relay is a pre-event of the Kigali International Peace Marathon, held one day before the Marathon, It’s an event done in a Form of relay, as participants walk from Nyanza memorial site to Amahoro National Stadium exchanging the torch.
The lighting of peace torch at Nyanza Memorial Site. This event indicate the value of the Kigali International Peace Marathon in peace building, and it does not only reflect the rebuilding of our nation but also disseminate peaceful information to Africa and the whole world on importance of sports in peace. The event also gives chance to participants of the Kigali International Peace Marathon, to learn the experiences of Rwanda as a country destructed and quickly developed from the scratch. On this edition and it will be the 5th edition, Peace torch relay will take place on 19th May 2018.
