Rwanda Athletics Federation (RAF) has organized the Kigali Night Run on May 13 in the build up to the 2016 Kigali International Peace Marathon set for May 22.
RAF has jointly partnered with Rwanda Development Board, Ministry of Sports and Culture as well as City of Kigali and Rwanda National Police to invite Rwandan citizens, expats and delegates who will be attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) that will run from May 11-13 at Serena Kigali Hotel.
The 3.9km event is free of charge and all participants are expected to register at MTN Service Centres at UTC, Rubangura and Nyarutarama as well as at Petit Stade, which are also registration points for the Marathon.
“The Kigali Night Run will showcase Rwanda as a very secure nation. It is one way of communicating what is going to take place on May 22,” said Johnson Rukundo, RAF Secretary General.
The Kigali Night Run has been organized to showcase Kigali as a safe and clean capital city on the African continent and beyond. This is the first ever that there is a night run in Rwanda.
WEF delegates will get an opportunity to meet and interact Rwandan citizens and get a feel of the remarkable Rwanda.
The course of the night run starts from the front of Kigali City Hall (on the side of MINECOFIN) with the finish point at the Car Free Zone.
